2018 Hydrant Flushing

We may perform limited hydrant flushing this year on Tuesdays in June:       6/12, 6/19, and 6/26/18

This may cause cloudy or slightly discolored water along with increased air bubbles while the flushing is being performed.  If your water is cloudy, running the water at your largest faucet will clear it. Although the water is very safe to use, the District suggests that laundry should not be done on the days listed below as it might result in discoloration.

Water restrictions were reviewed at the board meeting on 5/17/18. The board has voted to continue restrictions to ensure that we continue to meet the District's responsibility of providing clean safe drinking water.

MAY 17, 2018

Notice 4/5/18

There are suggestions popping up that remind people to water trees and shrubs during the drought. Currently no outside water use is allowed in IHWD. So what do we do? Here is information from LAM Tree Service:

The trees and shrubs that really need supplemental water are recently planted, and or have root disturbance due to construction, infrastructure or animals like horses. Of course, all trees can suffer from drought stress making them more susceptible to other things so you will want to keep an eye out for signs of disease and or pests and keep up on your preventive spraying. As for supplemental water in a time of water restriction we would recommend a few solutions like using collected water- rain barrels, grey water (including the water you boiled your pasta, potatoes, eggs in once it is cool of course.), etc. or having a company like LAMTreeService come out and do the watering for you.
